DNA is turning 16 and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Each year to celebrate DNA's anniversary, we ask a local artist to recreate our classic "Support Local Art" design to fit their personal style. Our featured artist this year is Amanda Zoey Weathers. Not only will we have a full collection release of her design, but our gallery wall will also be featuring a solo show of her work.

Fresh stART is a program of the Homeless Alliance designed to provide people experiencing homelessness in Oklahoma City with a supportive environment for creating art.
In addition to providing a potential source of income, open studio art programs enable people experiencing homelessness to express themselves creatively, manage emotional issues, develop social skills through positive interaction with a peer group, and develop confidence and skills transferable to employment.
Fresh stART hosts studio time three times per week at the Homeless Alliance’s Day Shelter located on their WestTown Homeless Resource Campus. Art supplies are donated by community members and monetary donations help offset the costs to operate the program.
For the month of December, we will be hosting a group show featuring 28 skateboards where each one is custom designed by a local artist!
Along with the skateboard art show, we will have our Annual Art Market on full display. 7 different local artists will be creating works centered around gift giving with prices around $50 or less.

Plaza Fest is our district’s annual event where you can enjoy live music, eat good food, see mural painters in action, watch performing artists and shop items at artist booths.
All the Plaza shops stay open late and local artists flood the streets! 16th Street will be closed to make room for all the planned festivities.

We are so honored to have Gregory II from Poetry and Chill back to perform at our store. There will be live poetry readings along with a plethora of musical performances.
Leondre Lattimore will also be joining us for an artist pop-up. We always have a selection of his prints in store, but this event will be a special afternoon full of poetry, music and local art.

Art allows people to temporarily escape their difficult situations and provides an opportunity to interact with peers in a positive environment. And when an artist sells something that they created, it helps build their confidence knowing that someone else values their work.
The artwork covers a variety of mediums including mixed media, collage, water color, acrylic and colored pencil.

December’s theme is “Hip Hop Holiday” in The Plaza! There will be plenty of activities going on around the district, but here is what we will have in front of our store:
From 6-8pm you can see Santa with out self-serving Santa photo-booth!
Curbside Chronicle will be set up and selling wrapping paper.
Isaac Diaz will have a pop-up inside and our art market will be in full swing.
We will also have hot cocoa and all the fixings for The Annual Plaza District Cocoa Crawl.

December’s art show is a group exhibition featuring 9 local artists/makers

We will also be showcasing a separate juried group show featuring 24 local artists. Each artist was given a canvas Christmas Stocking to paint/decorate however they so choose!
With the idea of gift giving in mind, any piece from the gallery wall will be allowed to be taken home the day of purchase. Just in time for Christmas!
