Amanda Weathers-Bradway is a 25 year old self taught artist from Oklahoma City who lives out of her studio in the historic Plaza district. Her paintings have been exhibited extensively in Oklahoma City and have also been shown in Tulsa, Oregon, and California. In general, she derives her passion and energy from closeness with her local arts community, Thai food, and a steadily growing collection of miniatures. The subject matter of each piece is greatly influenced by ancient Japanese, Chinese, and Thai cultures. Using acrylic, watercolor, and graphite on wood; the whimsical characters are often the solitary focal point with intricately drawn abstract floral borders. Each year brings new inspiration for a continually evolving body of work....and funness.
